Company History
Since 1976, Life Cycle Engineering has provided engineering solutions that deliver lasting results for private industry, public entities, government organizations and the military. Founding partners George Thornley and Jim Fei are engineers and thought leaders in reliability engineering and condition-based monitoring. In the early 1970’s, George and Jim were focused on a project to extend the asset life cycle of the U.S. Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet. The goal was to enable all critical ship systems to achieve their full potential.
Life Cycle Engineering was born from this initial project which brought together the best and the brightest from the military, civil service, industry and academia to leverage the science of asset reliability. This original work revolved around a core activity of combining proven engineering practice with science and other technical subject matter knowledge to help people and the organizations (and systems) they work in to achieve their full performance capability.
