LAND (AS-39) and USS FRANK CABLE (AS-40), the Navy’s only submarine tenders, provide maintenance services to every U.S. submarine deployed west of the international dateline. These tenders are supported by a team of LCE personnel. Leveraging decades of experience, LCE SEA Coaches provide over-the-shoulder, deckplate-level training and mentoring to aspiring young maintenance personnel, making the sailors more efficient and proficient in all aspects of submarine repair. LCE’s Planning Support personnel instill research methodologies and technical reference utilization skills needed to transform ordinary sailors into highly skilled Maintenance Planners.
