Tell us a little about yourself?
I was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and grew up in the Somerset area. I moved to South Jersey four years ago with my parents, and now I'm living on my own in Lindenwold. Video games make up a large chunk of my free time, from playing them to making them. I went to college for Game Design and Development, with a minor in American Sign Language. My first job outside of college was for an advertising technology company doing back-end development. Now I work at LCE!
What do you do at LCE?
My job title is "software developer". I work client-side with our Navy customers, implementing software solutions to help maintain a secure cybersecurity posture throughout NAVSEA. I review, write, and test code-- mostly in Java, with a bit of Python sprinkled here and there. I also lead the charge on developing new features and maintain/update existing project code bases.
What do you enjoy most about working at LCE?
The biggest thing about LCE is how warm and welcoming everyone tends to be all the time. I have yet to experience a day where anyone was any less than friendly. You can tell how great a company is to work for when all of its employees are happy and seem to take genuine pride in the work that they do.
I also value that my particular line of work has me constantly learning. There is always a new challenge to overcome, always something new to discover. I like to believe I'm a student at heart forever, so having a job that allows me to expand my knowledge every day is a gift in and of itself.
