Scott Coughlin

Scrum Master
Charleston,  SC

Scott, can you tell us a little about yourself?

I moved to Charleston from Northern Virginia in 2013 and started working for LCE in 2014. I had previously owned my own business developing interactive presentations and online training. I’m married with a 6 year old daughter, and we love the southern lifestyle and hanging out at the beach and the pool. When I’m not at work, I love to go fishing from my kayak. We also love the food scene in Charleston!

What do you do at LCE?

I was initially hired as a User Interface (UI) Designer, and since then I have worked on several different projects as a Requirements Analyst and Scrum Master.  As Scrum Master, I facilitate the daily activities of two separated agile development teams.  I enjoy the relationships I build with my teams and my role gives me regular opportunities to work directly with the client.

In addition, I continue to use my graphic design background to help out with other projects across the company including process representation and interface design for various groups.

What do you enjoy most about working at LCE?

When I first interviewed at LCE, I appreciated the fact that they put a real value on my soft skills in addition to the necessary technical skills. I have had a lot of opportunity at LCE to use those skills in providing team leadership and mentoring, which I really enjoy. I’d also say I’ve had a lot of opportunity to explore new things and take on various roles and responsibilities that I may have never considered had they not been available at LCE.
